June 2006 - Present |
Citizen Agency LLC |
San Francisco, California |
|
Citizen Agency is a boutique firm designed to help technology companies understand and serve their customer communities better. My reputation for being a solid community advocate, so merely one month after we launched, we had a full client roster and were turning others away. Nearly two years later, we have a full plate of customers, I am writing a book with Random House and I speak worldwide on the subject matter.
To date, we have worked with many clients in the technology industry, taking them from flatlined (and sometimes negative) growth, to vibrant, active and happy communities of end users who become advocates, themselves, for these companies. We create win-win situations for all, based on a collaborative outlook. We work for our clients' clients first, then our clients. - |

Riya.com |
Redwood City, California |
|
In six months pre-launch, and as the sole marketing person, my community outreach strategy raised enough awareness to land Riya as the 'sweetheart' of Web 2.0, appearing on over 500 blogs (speculative at this point, very few from actual use), in over 20 publications and gathering interest from all corners of the world.
The first day Riya launched, there were over 1 million photos uploaded and nearly 20,000 sign-ups. - |

At HRPAO, I worked on a team to implement a massive new Content Management System, complete with over 2500 articles on Human Resources and an additional 1500 pages of other resources for the 15,000+ member organization in Ontario.
I also set up affiliate programs with organizations such as Monster.ca, Yahoo!HotJobs and various Canadian HR publications. - |

April 2001 - June 2002 |
MGM Communications |
Calgary, Alberta |
|
I handled over 20 clients at any given time, both strategically planning their marketing strategies and implementing and managing these projects. Often working in large agency/client teams, my role was to come up with the non-traditional tactics, including guerrilla, event and experiential elements. I also managed all other aspects of account direction, including client relations and account direction.
